More Power in Self-Service Shipping Paperwork

Self-service shipping paperwork gives Descartes Pacejet users the flexibility to configure, update, and manage packing slips, labels, and other shipping documents without relying on support or custom development. The feature is designed to help teams stay agile, meet customer documentation requirements, and automate more of their shipping process through configurable business rules.

This month’s 25.2.1 release introduces several new templates and a new shipment rule to give teams even more control over how shipping paperwork is created and applied.

What’s New in the Latest Release

Retail Templates for Sam’s Club and Costco

Two new 8.5 x 11 packing list formats have been added to support specific retailer requirements:

Sam’s Club (Portrait Format)
Displays grouped product data including item descriptions, UPCs, unit pricing, and customer product numbers. Certain fields—like Membership # and Optional Services—are left blank for custom population.

Costco (Landscape Format)
Includes similar product-level grouping with a dedicated field for Preferred Arrival Date. This layout is optimized for Costco shipments and is not intended for use in consolidated shipments.

New Standard Template: 4 x 6 Packing List

Designed for smaller shipments, this new format prints packing list information on standard label paper. Each label lists the products in a shipment but do not indicate items in packages. Multiple labels will be generated automatically when needed.

New Rule: Set Shipment Service

A new shipping rule allows teams to conditionally apply shipment services based on comparisons between multiple data fields. This gives users more control over service selection without needing static mappings or manual adjustments. For example, a specific carrier service can now be applied only for certain order types or customer conditions.

Why It Matters

– Templates support retail compliance and streamline document creation
– The 4 x 6 packing list improves workflows for smaller shipments
– New rules increase automation and reduce reliance on static logic
– Users can make changes faster without needing to contact support
